Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp of oil
- 1 lb beef
- ½ cup rice vinegar
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 2 cups rice
- 4 cups water
- 2 Tbsp ginger from tube
- 2 cups frozen peas
Steps
- In a separate pot, add rice and 4 cups of water, bring to boil then cover and simmer till just done.
- Add oil to a larger pot and saute ground beef till lightly browned. Remove when done, leave oil behind.
- To this pot, add mirin and the sugar to 1 more cup of water - simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add soy sauce and simmer hard to reduce for 20 more minutes. Try to reduce the liquid to ½.
- Once the liquid is reduced, add the frozen peas, ginger, beef, and rice to the sauce. Stir well.
- Leave the lid off and cook the mixture till the peas are thawed.
- Once done, the mixture can be frozen, refrigerated or served hot.
